When editing a music videoclip there is a specific order in what must be edited:
1) Performance cut- band's performance
2) Narrative cut
3) Any effects work- texts, etc
4) Colouring
To edit the footage together we must first synch footage. For this we use clapper board- prop used to assist in synchronise the picture and sound together.
We edit the song by adding a beep, counting in on audio to make it easier to keep track.

Picture synch
- Find the same number on clapper board on both screens
- To start in the beginning of the footage, pick a random number
- Cut clip then find number on clapper board to line up
Sound synch
Three rules when editing a music videoclip:
Unlike editing an opening sequence, it's not recommended to create a rough cut as it's a waste of time- ends up being too similar to the final cut.
- When filming something very close- closeup shot- you wouldn't be able to capture the clapper board
- Listen to loud beep, drum hits cut then drag clip to audio
